Below is what could be the most detailed comprehensive beginners Yoga video course on the web.

This series serves as a comprehensive introductory guide to some of the most beneficial yoga poses for beginners to embark upon. You'll find it is sequenced in ways that, day after day and week upon week, build on what you have done previously. We have built custom video sequences with detailed how-to instructions and tips for every step of the way. Becoming familiar with and learning these beginner poses is a great start in your journey towards greater health, vibrancy and overall balance in life.

Before you begin just check that you have read and understood the "How-to-Start" guidelines here: http://yogasync.tv/info/howtostart/

To be clear, when you start Yoga it is not about mastering and perfecting hundred's of poses. It is about firstly mastering the basics. It can take hundred's of repetitions over years to build good structure and realign the body so that you build in strength and flexibility in the in the areas that need it. And as your practice evolves and the body finds it's new center of balance, you'll notice the mind and emotions openning and balancing in a whole new light also.

Think about it like this, both the following would take about the same amount of effort. If you are looking for water and you dug a hundred holes that are one meter deep or one hole that was a hundred meters deep, which one is more likely to hit water?  Yoga is like this, work with a set series and slowly build and internalize your practice. In other words, you will deepen into your practice as you persist with it and your persistance will help it stick as you work towards making permanent transformation in your life.

The good thing is that you are about to start this journey with expert instruction at your finger tips for every step of the way. Work carefully and with awareness at all times and listen to what the body is saying. We use a range of props in this series which help align the body and overcome imbalances (but you can try a few thick books and a belt or a scarf if you do not have blocks and a strap).

Practice makes permanent, so learning the correct way the first time is a good attitude to take with you as you progress through this series. Follow the links below in the order that they appear. Once you have visited the page you will get a green tick to remind you where you are. So lets get started.

This is because you MUST get the basics internalized. Understand that, as is life, so too is yoga a process, and it does take time. So be patient with yourself and let yourself be wherever you are at in your practice. View this video  http://yogasync.tv/info/aboutyoga/ and think about the analogy of the blue dye. Aim to get better, bit by bit, step by step. It's all you can ever do. There are no shortcuts in life, but as you persistently and mindfully practice yoga with awareness and dedication, you are bound to progress faster. You'll also notice some wonderful new things occuring in life off your matt too.

Ok by this week you will be noticing some welcome changes, and probably some new or enduring challenges too. You might be feeling better in your body, clearer in your mind and maybe even more peaceful, calm and relaxed in general life. You may be noticing some sore muscles too. But don't they feel good as they remind you that you are making some good and healthy changes in your life! You will be developing a better understanding of how your body behaves in some of the movements - perhaps you're noticing that some poses are easier than others and while some are getting better as you go along, others still are a little more challening to proceed with. This is normal. Yoga is a process that can often get harder before it gets easier as you begin to take a better form into every movement. Observe how the mind is reacting when things get a little difficult and stick with it. Perseverance is the key to success in any endeavor and if you have made it this far you are doing well. Keep a positive attuitude and keep getting on the mat every day. And remember to nurture your nutritional intake in the foods that you cook by taking the time at some stage to prepare a meal from "The World of Cuisine".
